Chapter 1095: ANY Conclusion
Chapter 1095: ANY Conclusion
Umm...what about no?
What about not doing something so blatantly dubious that most of the mop’s hair was already rising in protest?!
Going to the Bridge to sell things?!
How crazy was that?!
Okay, maybe Ollie was simply being overly jumpy again.
But honestly, the blonde was already dangerously close to emotional collapse after everything that had happened recently, despite him genuinely trying his best this entire time.
__
See, just moments before scrambling over after hearing the deeply important news that they had successfully harvested honey for the very first time today, only to then discover they apparently needed to sell part of it to the Trove—
Ollie and his fresh-from-the-oven husband had actually just experienced an entirely unrelated tragedy.
Specifically, they had been unceremoniously thrown out of the treatment room currently occupied by one bee-carrying Jax and the allegedly motherly Killian Nox.
"..."
The mop had genuinely looked like discarded trash left outside someone’s house afterward.
Hunched over by the doorway—Ollie, undoubtedly the light of someone’s life—simply stood there blinking blankly while trying to process what had just happened.
Outside...
He was thrown outside...
How could that be possible when he had been doing his job responsibly?!
He was so responsible that even while his heart was screaming at him to investigate and listen to the tea, the blonde still managed to blurt out the Elders’ exact instructions with remarkable clarity:
"Just do exactly what you did last time to supply spiritual energy!"
He said it with a dramatic huff, even after being stunned out of his socks.
He clearly put a great deal of mental effort into this and had even prepared responsibly beforehand. In fact, the Elders had specifically instructed him to remain there and record the findings.
Things like how long the process would take and the respective conditions of everyone involved after supplying spiritual energy.
He—the reformed individual who had publicly vowed to become more than someone who only ate and mated—had arrived equipped with a clipboard and an actual pen so he could properly fulfill his duties.
Instead?
He ended up getting physically ejected by his own brother-in-law before even receiving clarification regarding Jax’s final words, which had apparently been important enough for someone to immediately slap a hand over the redhead’s mouth.
"!!!"
In the eyes of the currently shortest Nox, what had happened was something extremely tragic.
An injustice!
Though Kyle would say otherwise, as it was more like his wife getting bested by his clearly more experienced handler of a brother.
Naturally, the ever-so-invested blonde desperately wanted to know what that meant. Kyle could even see all the obvious signs on his extremely bright face.
Unfortunately, before he could ask, Killian had instead requested confirmation regarding the Elders’ instructions.
Just like always, his older brother would use a question to suddenly fluster the opponent.
And because Ollie was tragically cooperative (?) by nature, he immediately blurted the answer out.
Then, moments later—
Gasp!
The blonde, without even realizing he had accidentally released his trump card, was being thanked and dropped outside.
Kyle thankfully didn’t need to be told twice because after his back tingled in momentary panic, he himself figured he wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.
And just like that, the two of them had become displaced and homeless (not).
"K-Kyle..."
Ollie slowly turned toward his husband with visible betrayal.
"Did they really just throw us out?"
Kyle, meanwhile, had also initially looked somewhat stunned, but for a totally different reason that he was still trying to wrangle with.
However, unlike his emotional little star, the adjutant recovered significantly faster.
Mostly because after hearing the words that had come out of Jax’s mouth earlier—words Kyle sincerely believed should be erased from memory using holy water and possibly divine intervention—he honestly thought most sane people would voluntarily leave the room instead of staying.
As such, the blue-haired cadet wisely chose not to think too deeply about the possible implications.
Because if he did the math and somehow reached ANY conclusion, then unfortunately, he’d probably never know peace again.
And so Kyle merely answered calmly,
"They’re grown adults. They probably know what they’re doing."
Now, granted, Kyle also privately believed that they very likely did not know what they were doing.
After all, Jax himself still seemed unaware of how he managed to live his life half the time.
Still, the adjutant would very much prefer to believe that the situation no longer required outside supervision.
Unfortunately, Ollie clearly disagreed.
"But Kyle!" the blonde gasped dramatically. "Don’t you want to know?!"
The little star looked genuinely distressed by his husband’s lack of investigative spirit.
"What if this becomes important for future parenting?!"
At this point, Ollie had already physically attached himself to the door again, pressing his face against it like an extremely determined barnacle while clearly attempting to eavesdrop on the conversation he believed he was unfairly missing out on.
Meanwhile, Kyle looked spiritually exhausted.
"Wife," the adjutant said firmly, "these are precisely the moments where I would rather pay not to know."
"What?!"
Ollie looked scandalized.
"How can you even say that?!"
However, Kyle simply peeled the stubborn blonde off the door with practiced efficiency before lifting him away entirely.
"If whatever they’re discussing becomes necessary for future parenting," Kyle replied calmly, "Then we’ll learn it together somehow."
Then his expression flattened further.
"But if this is just another matter involving inserting things anywhere... be it horizontal or vertical—"
"...then I’d like you to know I absolutely do not require additional educational guidance regarding that topic."
The adjutant immediately began retreating down the hallway.
"So we’re leaving while our innocence is still intact."
Ollie looked up at his husband in total disbelief and was just about to protest again—
Bzzzt!
Kyle’s terminal suddenly lit up.
The sound instantly shifted both their attention.
Because alerts like that usually meant something important had happened.
The couple quickly looked down and read the message Xavier had sent.
"!!!"
"What?!" Ollie practically screeched.
"Going to the Bridge to sell honey?!"
Honestly, there were far too many alarming things packed into that single sentence.
Hooray for harvesting honey.
But selling it?
And to the Bridge of all places?
"?!"
So, without wasting another second, the two immediately rushed over to intercept Luca and Xavier before they could proceed any further.
Which naturally led to the current situation where Ollie outright blocked their path with visible panic.
"Brother," the blonde exclaimed in horror, "you can’t possibly be serious right now?!"
